I watched this film when I was very little and all my brains could retain was the scene of the ball shot from the roofs >

It did quite impress me because it took me several years of research before I could identify where the scene came from until one day I watched 'To Catch a Thief' again by chance.
Grace Kelly is absolutely breathtakingly beautiful. I'm so glad she was part of our history. Like Romy Schneider (Austrian) and Jane Birkin (English), it seems that France has drawn some of the most beautiful and talented foreign women. But images speak better than words, here are some of my favourite stills from the Hitchcock film.

One of the first appearances of Frances Stevens wearing a Grecian fluid blue dress that perfectly matches the colour of her eyes. That may help to find a husband!

The famous 'you can't resist me look', she is the master of it. Check also 'Rear Window' you'll see what I mean...

Frances and her Chinese inspired white and yellow dress while strolling about at the street market

The pink and white day dress and matching gloves

Oh I love this one so much. It's decadent. The halter swimsuit reveals a strong sleek shoulder line. This reminds me of her daughter Stephanie posing for a French magazine summer issue showing the exact same shoulders in a very -indeed- 80's halter swimsuit. I know, I had one too!

Another Grecian style evening dress that she coupled with a sublime diamond necklace. The most powerful weapons she triggers to catch Cary Grant. Does it work? Well yes! But she'd be stunning in a potato sack anyway.

Frances at the fancy ball. You couldn't think of a craziest dress (note the little golden wings on her hair) oh but thinking about it, she does have some serious competition in the golden dress department with Donkeyskin and her Sun dress and Angelique when she's introduced to the King of France Louis the XIVth (Angelique et le Roy). A premonition? A couple of years later she'd wed a prince and become Grace Princess of Monaco
