This is really an unusual piece of cinematography but I guess that's the charm of Bunuel. Deneuve is impeccably dressed by Yves Saint Laurent in fantastically neat outfits. I could see this in the streets and it'd not look old fashioned. Pure genius!

Severine poking the fire in black scallop shoes, no frill no fuss little black dress with white cuffs and colar

Severine back from shopping, leather brown coat with fur collar

A feminine version of the chapka with studs

Probalbly my favourite outfit of the whole film. The more subtle it goes, the stunnier Deneuve looks. Massive sunglasses I love you

Severine relaxing at the brothel wearing a red skirt-suit

What an ace! Who today has the time or the skills to do such a perfect French twist?

And last but not least, these sum up the whole 60s look

I'm a huge fan of rusthazelnut Samantha Eggar who I first saw in tragic 'The collector' film. Walk don't run is not a great movie but worth a look at least for the gorgeous settings (Tokyo Olympics 1964) and stunning Cary Grant playing the cool casual Sir William Rutland:

Prudish Christine Easton welcoming her new flatmate Sir William Rutland

What Christine does with the rent money...

A new kimono!

A view from the lounge, quite exotic

Christine goes out on a date
